Week 1 Tutorial - Bunnings Warehouse

1. This is the outside of the warehouse. It is a portal frame warehouse made primarily from steel but also uses concrete for the wall panels and slab.

2. This photo shows the roofs major members. This includes the purlins, apex, haunchings, rafters/beams, roof bracing and fly bracing.

3. The rafters/beams span from the outside walls to the centre of the warehouse where they meet. They are connected using nuts and bolts as shown.

4. Columns/stanchions have girts fixed to them at regular intervals. These girts then have the wall material fixed to them. In this case concrete panels are fixed to the girts but other materials such as steel sheet can be used.
